Dr. Carissa Cabán-Alemán is a community and academic board-certified psychiatrist specializing in social, cultural and climate psychiatry. Some of her interests are cultural humility, social justice, structural competency, mindfulness, ecotherapy and agroecology. She is one of the founding members of the Climate Psychiatry Alliance and CrearConSalud, Inc., non-profit organizations devoted to mental health education and addressing the impacts of climate change on mental health.
During “Earth Month,” we are encouraged to celebrate our planet and take climate action. Beyond the April celebration, let us raise environmental consciousness, honor nature and demand the rights of ALL living beings to a hospitable home: our Mother Earth.
