The Steve Fund, in partnership with the Child Mind Institute and Ipsos, has conducted a landmark survey on the mental health experiences of Black families and young adults. This national study provides crucial insights into barriers, the role of trust and representation in mental health care, and actionable solutions to support mental health equity.
The sample consisted of 1,500 U.S. residents, 1,000 parents ages 18-79 (parents/guardians of children under 18 years old who have ever been concerned about their child’s emotional and/or behavioral well-being), and 500 young adults ages 18-24 (who have ever been concerned about their emotional and/or behavioral well-being). The survey, conducted online by the Child Mind Institute, took place from July 30 to August 22, 2024.
